What kind of insects are you planning to repel?

I have a couple of suggestions: get some flypaper to trap your insects. You will need two pieces. You will also need some ';bait'; to attract the flies. I would suggest either some raw meat or some soft fruit, depending where you are in the world and what sort of insects are around the place. You could also use sugar water.

Place your bait in the middle of the flypaper. (Both pieces). Place the lanzones' peel around the edges of one piece and not the other. Put both pieces (with bait and lanzones peel) out in an exposed place. You should separate them by a good distance - at least a couple of metres, so that the lanzones peel won't repel flies from the control.

After a set length of time, like 24 hours, count the number of insects on each bit of flypaper. You could also count at several timepoints like 1, 2, 5, 10 hours if you want extra points on your homework!
