Not that I know of, but there is a addative you can add to stains. One such product is NBS-30. In can be ordered online with the link below. I bought it, it has a very strong citrinella smell, had no insects at all for a good two months. Is there a deck stain or paint that acts as a wasp-repellent?
No, actually the smell of the stain or paint will attract wasps. The best thing to do is try to find out where the hive is and get rid of it.Is there a deck stain or paint that acts as a wasp-repellent?
Yes. Get a Linseed Oil based stain or paint.
I accidentally discovered this several years ago when we put up a new building at the apartment complex that I managed for six years.
All of the buildings (including the new one) have wooden siding.
I waged war in the original buildings with squirrel %26amp; bee/wasp infestation.
When it came time to paint/stain the new building, we somehow (I do'nt remember exactly how) ended up with a Linseed Oil based paint/stain. I managed that complex for several years after that building went up %26amp; never had any problems with squirells or insects.
The new building was put up using the exact same materials as the originals as they were'nt that old either, so the only thing I can say is the paint/stain acted as an excellent repellant.
Hope this helped, good luck!!
No.
There is a chemical that can be applied on top of wood to repel carpenter bees that eat the wood.
Best thing to do is if you are seeing a lot remove the nests because chances are they are near by.
Spring will bring them looking for places to nest. Just try to stay on top of them.
