Sunscreen or mosquito repellent for infants?

My son is 2 months old and we are traveling to the Dominican Republic in two weeks to visit my husband;s family. I do not plan to have my son out in the sun for any extended period of time but it is a tropical island so we cant avoid it all together. Any suggestions for sunscreen for such a young one? I have some very light weight long sleeved shirts and a brim hat for him. Also, are there any mosquito repellents that can be used for babies? Thanks.Sunscreen or mosquito repellent for infants?
Avon bug guard plus sunscreen. One application plus it's not toxic and deet free. Works good too....Sunscreen or mosquito repellent for infants?
You should talk to your son's pediatrician.

Usually nets are preferred to mosquito repellents, but your son's doctor might give you the OK to use a topical repellent in your situation. (There are nets that fit over a Pack'n'Play or over an infant carrier, if you're interested in those. We used them quite a bit with our kids.)

Any risk associated with mosquito repellent is lower than the risk of contracting malaria or dengue or some other mosquito-borne illness.

Also, very light receiving blankets are good for keeping the sun off an infant, and there are tents or add-on sunshades that you can use with a stroller, etc.

A brim hat (with a flap that covers the neck) and some lightweight clothing is your best bet. Actually, Land's End and One Step Ahead and a few other companies offer clothing with an SPF rating. You might look into some of that.
water babies, used with my daughter when she was 3 months old in Hawaii, she ate it too, licked her hands and feet...nothing bad happened.

As far as bug repellent, I dunno.
