If it is applied safely by rubbing on with the hands so it doesn't get in the baby's face, would this be okay? I am only referring to insect repellent that is meant to be used on the skin. We go to a lot of ball games where the gnats and mosquitoes are bad at times, so I wondered. Can insect repellent, such as Off (for the skin) be used safely on an infant?
I found a baby stroller that had mosquito net that just pulled down over where the baby was cause I was afraid of what was in the repellents. I did find a baby safe all natural repellent on line at the site below it is almost at the bottom of the page under home and garden, but the other skin care products for baby are great too! Good Luck!!!Can insect repellent, such as Off (for the skin) be used safely on an infant?
There are insect repellants specially formulated for infants.
I would say no, but ';the right start'; store has some safe for babies
Do not put it on his/her hands or any other area/thing the child puts into its mouth. Avoid the eyes and lips obviously and bathe the child to remove it from the skin daily. However there are insect repellants made just for children. My dr has no problems w me using them on my son as we live in an area where there are over 900 cases of west nile this yr alone! And ive done this since he was a month old
Remember whatever babies can reach, they'll put in their mouth. So, make sure it's something that a little is ok if it gets in baby's mouth from touching his arm w/ his hands, then sticking his hand in his mouth
I would ask my Dr, b/c I don't know.
I'm not sure i would try it if the baby is under 3 months old. its not even safe to use sunscreen before that age.
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!鈥?br>
Not okay to spray a baby with poison.
You should not put off on an infant, i would check your local wal mart for infant insect repellent, but the chemicals in adult replant is to strong for them
